Buffs Love to Air It Out
Colorado enters this Pac-12 showdown boasting a solid 4-2 record and already exceeding their college football win total. A huge part of their success is their passing game, which is averaging almost eight yards per pass and over 72% completions.
The Buffaloes are coming off a hard-fought win over Arizona State in which Shadeur Sanders was a standout, throwing for 239 yards and a touchdown while also scoring a rushing TD. On the year, the son of ‘Coach Prime’ has thrown for 2,020 yards and 16 TDs with only two interceptions.

While Sanders is the player getting the most hype on CU’s offense, they also have a few other stars, with RB Dylan Edwards leading the team with 217 rushing yards and WR Xavier Weaver accumulating 386 receiving yards. The team may also get back two-way stud Travis Hunter from injury (lacerated liver).
While the Colorado offense is humming along, the team’s defense has been its downfall. The Buffs have one of the worst defenses in the Pac-12 conference, allowing 465.5 yards per game and 34.2 points per contest.
Despite criticisms of Colorado’s defense, it should noted that they have faced strong offensive teams like USC, TCU, and Oregon to date. They should have a much better time coming up with stops against this lackluster Stanford offense.

Cardinal Struggling to Take Flight
Stanford enters this Week 7 college football game with a 1-4 record that is correlated to their underwhelming offense. The Cardinal are averaging just 19.2 points per game, and no single player is averaging more than 50 yards per game.
Stanford is coming off a bye week, but prior to that, they lost 42-6 loss at home to the #9 Oregon Ducks, where they were 27-point underdogs. The failed cover against the Ducks dropped Stanford to 2-3 ATS on the season.
Running back Austin Jones has been one of the few bright spots for Stanford this season, rushing for 422 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Elijah Higgins has also been productive, catching 22 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cardinal have been playing two quarterbacks this season, with neither being overly impressive. Ashton Daniels has appeared in five games, throwing for 561 yards and three TDs with two picks, while Justin Lamson has also played in five games, throwing for 413 yards and no TDs with one pick.
Colorado vs Stanford Prediction
Can Stanford hang with the pass-happy Colorado team, or will we see a scenario play out similar to the one we saw in California a month ago? When the Cardinal faced Heisman Trophy favorite Caleb Williams and the USC offense, they were dominated and went down 49-3 at halftime.
This just isn’t a good matchup for Stanford as they possess the worst secondary in the entire Pac-12 (305.8 YPG). Colorado’s secondary is also weak, but neither of Stanford’s quarterbacks has shown the ability to take advantage of a susceptible pass defense to the extent Sanders has.
Bet365 is differing some of the best player props for this game, and we like targeting Sanders “over” 349.5 passing yards on Friday night. Sanders has averaged 336.7 passing yards per game this season against some tough defenses, and this will be one of the least intimidating secondaries he faces all year.
Game Pick: Colorado -11.5 Spread (-110)Player Prop Pick: Sheduer Sanders Over 349.5 Passing Yards (-110)
