Ruthless All Blacks can claim another victory against Wales and end their autumn tour unbeaten
There are two guarantees when New Zealand play at the Millennium Stadium. First, that they will perform a spine tingling Haka and then second, they will go on to beat the Welsh. The Red Dragons have never beaten the Kiwis at the home of Welsh rugby and it is very unlikely that this will change anytime soon.
Wales looked woeful against a Fiji side that pushed them all the way, and nearly snatched a late victory despite being a man down for most of the second half. Wales hung on for a 17-13 triumph, but it wasn’t pretty.
The week previous, they came agonisingly close to beating Australia, but once again fell short against Southern Hemisphere opposition as the Wallabies class ultimately prevailed in the end.
Warren Gatland’s men haven’t beaten any of New Zealand, South Africa or Australia since they beat the Aussies back in 2008. A record which looks ominous for them heading into this fixture on Saturday.
The All Blacks have once again shown why they are regarded as the best side in world rugby over the past few weeks and have done so convincingly.
Despite performances against England and Scotland lacking the usual flair that we have come to associate with the All Blacks, they have still done enough to win. This is a worrying psychological advantage they have over their opponents and Wales will be fully aware of the fact that even if they play to their full potential, they may still not have enough to beat New Zealand.
Statistics are certainly favouring the World Champions, who haven’t lost to Wales since 1953, having played 25 matches since that last victory. Despite Wales’ best attempts over the years, they have never quite managed to do enough to win, which will be another key factor leading into this game.
New Zealand have the physical, mental and technical edge over their opponents this weekend. Sadly for Wales, they aren’t performing at their best at the moment and the Kiwis can brutally punishing to those not on their game.
Having rested several key names against Scotland, the All Blacks will be rejuvenated this week and will smell blood in Cardiff. The backline of Julian Savea, Israel Dagg and Sonny Bill Williams will run riot against a fragile looking Welsh team. If their star players come out of the blocks firing then this game could be over by the first quarter.
