Inter Miami CF, having failed to reach the MLS Cup Playoffs, is set to honour their star player, Lionel Messi, in a grand event called ‘Noche d’Or.’ Messi, who recently clinched his eighth Ballon d’Or, will be the focus of the festivities on 8 November at DRV PNK Stadium when they face off against New York City FC, following which, eyes will turn to the preparations for a new season, which is set to get going early in 2024.

Messi’s official Miami return in 2024
While the schedule for the 2024 MLS season has not yet been officially released, it is highly likely to kick off in late February or early March, considering that the 2023 season began on 25 February. Given that we were informed of that one on 22 December, it’s possible that a similar timeline can be expected this year, although there is no World Cup meaning it could be freed up earlier. FIFA international breaks will be taken into account when the schedule is compiled.

For Miami, a solid pre-season will be required, the first with Messi, Busquets and Jordi Alba on board, to ensure a strong start to the campaign, unlike that which has now ended. The squad will also be bolstered by some fresh faces, with our prediction that young legs will do the running, and veteran talent will add the gloss, a certain Luis Suárez virtually guaranteed to join his old Barça buddies. As yet, with the China tour cancelled, we have no details on the pre-season schedule for Miami.

More about the Noche d’Or
In a unique celebration, David Beckham and his team have organised a night filled with special events. Fans attending the match can enjoy “specialty food and beverage options” beyond the usual fare found at standard MLS games. The pregame presentation will be highlighted by golden fireworks and a golden, not red, carpet for Messi’s entrance.
